  10. Pitäähän tänne vähän suomenkieltäkin saada mukaan :) Innolla odotan lehteä minäkin, Oikein kivalta näyttää ja pian pääseekin sitten suunnittelemaan syksylle vaatetta. Toivottavasti kauniita kankaitakin löytyy Suomestakin - jostakin.

  12. Hei

    Hyvä, kun näkyy suomeakin täällä.
Hilcon kankaita saa hyvinvarustetuista kangaskaupoista ympäri Suomen (kauppiaslista on siellä tuoreimman lehden takasivuilla).

Oma aikaisempaa laajempi nettikangaskaupamme avautuu syksyn aikana, kunhan saamme jo useita vuosia hautuneen kokonaisvaltaisen nettisivu-uudistuksemme julkaistua. Toki nytkin voi kysellä lehdestä löytyviä kankaita myymälästämme joko puhelimitse (016 4250 850) tai sp:lla. ottobre [at] ottobre.fi

Muistakaahan samalla myös kestovaippoihin sopiva bambuneuloksemme (70% bambu, 30% puuvilla), jota useat asiakkaat kyselevät. Se on valikoimissamme koko ajan hIntaan 16.80 e/m.

  14. Kiitos perusteellisesta selvityksestä! Minulle on tänne Tampereelle tullutkin kankaita sieltä pohjoisesta asti, erityisesti muutama vuosi sitten kun lapset olivat pienempiä. Mutta hienoa, jos nettikauppa laajenee. Olen hirveän huono tilaamaan ulkomailta. Syksyä odotellen :)

  19. I particularly love the peasant outfit, but was really disappointed that there was not a boy's waterproof jacket to complement the girl's one. The boys seem to miss out on jackets with hoods in Ottobre - there was one recently but it was in a very small size...

  20. I just started recieving Ottobre in the spring and I have had so much fun making things for my twin grandchildren, however, I having a bit of trouble. I am not familiar with European sizing and I have tried to estimate the conversions. Is there a conversion chart that would also give measurements that correlate to the American sizing? I'm getting ready to make the hooded coat - out of a yummy red cord and lined with red/white houndstooth cord.

  23. Hi, I am a real newbie to sewing. And I am not alone! Could it be a good idea for you to make a 'newbie Edition' with very detailed pictures showing how to do things, even if its obvious to other experienced readers.

Not as a regular edition, but a number to buy for all of us newbies. Maybe both kids and grownup clothes.

Could this be a good idea?

  24. I am a new subscriber and love this magazine. I was so inspired by this issue (my first), the Sparrow coat (pg 3) jumped out at me and I have now made and finished my first Ottobre item! I have posted it on my blog at pippicreates.blogspot.com
I am looking forward to finding time to make my next piece. I was so impressed with the patterns, the instructions and the details in the design. I learnt some new techniques from the process (I had never heard of iron-on fleece before!). Now I just have to wait for Autumn in Australia (next year) for my little one to grow into it. Keep up the great work!

  25. I just posted a comment, and forgot a couple of details. In the Sparrow Coat pattern (pg 3), it says to add seam allowance to all pieces. However as the coat edges were finished with binding, it shouldn't have a seam allowance added? I didn't work this out until the coat was almost finished. I figured it didn't matter too much as it only changed the length and overhang of the coat, however I thought I would enquire for future reference (I plan on making this one again!)
    Thanks!

  26. Hi Pippi and others!

we peeked your blog . You've made a lovely coat; lucky one who gets it.

The general cutting information in page 24 tells you to add 1 cm seam allowances to each edge of pattern (except the folds, of course). If there is exceptions, it is told in each designs cutting instructions.

In this Sparrow- coat pattern we removed 1 cm from bias binding finished edges to make the cutting simplier. That is why we wrote "Note!" paragraph.

And you' re right; IF we had NOT removed the 1 cm from the pattern you should not have needed to cut seam allowances.

Wishing you all a colourful fall time.

    Keep up sewing, folks!
