OTTOBRE design® summer issue 3/2015

Dear Subscribers,

Best greetings from OTTOBRE design® magazine. Our latest issue 3/2015 will come out shortly, the official publishing date being today, April 9, 2015. To ensure that our subscribers would receive their magazines on time, we mailed the magazines already at the turn of the month.

However, due to the Easter holidays and subsequent unexpected interruptions in transport services, it seems that the summer issue will reach the subscribers at very different times. Some or our subscribers in, for example, Finland and Germany have already received their magazines, and in Scandinavia the magazine is being delivered at this moment. Subscribers in other countries will receive their magazines between April 11 and April 20, 2015, depending on the distance from Finland to the country in question and on the delivery speed of the local postal service.

The delivery delays primarily concern our subscribers in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK, as well as in countries outside Europe.

Even though we are constantly developing our delivery services and routes, the long distances from Finland to the rest of the world, involving both surface and sea transport, sometimes cause unforeseen challenges. We are very sorry about this.

While we realize that you are itching to receive your magazine, we kindly ask for your patience regarding the delays.

Wishing you happy sewing and sunny spring days,

Matti Hepola
Publishing Director

Dear friends all over the world!

My heart is crying...I'm so disappointed on what has happened...
We all are so very sorry about the delay, but yet we know there isn't much we can do, but to move  somewhere south – closer to you, friends!

But I still believe this issue is worth waiting for...so many lovely patterns and something for whole family!

Those of you who have already received the summer issue, please update the arrival  on our Facebook page or here, so everyone else will know the situation! Thanks in advance!

Yours  faithfully,

Tuula Hepola
editor-in-chief

  8. Dear Pia and all other subscribers who are still missing the magazine!

You're right. The distance isn't the problem, but the logistics. Or the logistic problems of delivery companies.

The pallet including copies to Denmark, Norway, France, Spain, Austria and Belgium, was sent to Helsinki to foreign mail sorting center to be delivered to their final destination already before Easter.

Someone make a mistake in Helsinki and the whole pallet did not arrive to Helsinki, instead it was travelling to France. We reached it from route to Germany, after you readers started asking for the magazines to arrive. The pallet was sent back to Helsinki, sorted and resent to readers. Now most of the magazines have arrived to customers or you should arrive it early next week.

We are not the only company who has faced these problems, and for us this wasn't the first time either. People are ordering increasing amount of goods from webshops round the word and tiny parcels are travelling here and there. I guess the enourmous amount of parcels is messing the logistic systems all over the Europe.

We do our best to solve the problems in deliveries and try to find a delivery company to whom we can trust, I promise. As we are living here almost in the middle of nowhere, there isn't many companies to choose.

We all here are thankful for your patience. We try to remunerate you with some surprise pattern...

    Have a nice weekend!

    Best wishes,
    Ottobre folks

  9. Sometimes things are beyond our control. I sew for my Granddaughters in Alaska and Seattle (I live in Wisconsin) Packages can take from 2 days to two weeks - never quite sure. I have gone a week without any tracking update - probably just sitting somewhere. At least you are attempting to solve it and showing you care - definitely can't say that about all companies!
